Background

Origin and owner

Heimerle + Meule began in 1845 in Pforzheim, when Julius Dittler started recovering precious metals from production waste. According to the company itself, that became the foundation of Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery.

Since 1960 the Possehl Group of Lübeck has been the sole shareholder of Heimerle + Meule GmbH. The Heimerle + Meule Group was formed in 2013, after the takeover of the Cookson Precious Metals Group; according to the company, it has over 950 employees at locations in seven countries.

Recognition

Heimerle + Meule GmbH in Pforzheim has been on the LBMA Good Delivery list for gold since 3 June 2014. According to the LBMA, its bar mark is HEIMERLE+MEULE with a stylised caster to the left of HEIMERLE. The company also mentions certification under the Responsible Gold Guidance and the Code of Practice of the RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council).
